Go Kart Go

About Go Kart Go: Go Kart Go was one of San Francisco's livliest indie rock bands. Formed in 1999, they were known in the Bay Area for their exciting live shows, which featured the soaring harmonic vocals of Eric Anderson, the driving Pete Kraweic-Chris Hanson rhythm section, and the urgent histrionics of a rock band filled with angst and purpose.

In 1999, the band put out their debut, Run For Tin on PopSmear Records gaining indie cred and bigger label attention.
2002 was a big year for the band - putting out a second release, The Ninth Floor, they received national specialty commercial radio play on several prominent radio stations.
This national attention led to excitement for the band's next release, "Flying" in 2003. Songs from "Flying," including "Future X-Girlfriend" and "Flying," received solid spins on both commercial and college radio. Go Kart Go hit the road in support of the new record in 2003.

Tragedy hit the Go Kart Go family in 2005. While working on their next release (currently unreleased), front-man Eric was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. After a strong battle lasting a year, the disease ultimately proved too advanced to overcome. Eric was able to record the majority of his guitar tracks and a few vocals for the new record, which Pete and Hanson will finish and release in 2007.

Remember Eric. We miss you, Eric.
